The new student account for Grades 3, 4 and 5 lets your students dive into an immersive math galaxy filled with unique characters and engaging math adventures.
The updated Grades 3, 4 and Grade 5 learning pathway is now based on five elements, called leagues: earth, air, water, fire, and time. Each league consists of three guilds with three levels each to complete. Let’s see how the new student account works step by step. If you also have classes with the lower grades enrolled, please check this article to see how a student account works for Pre-K - Grade 2 students.
As soon as students log in, the math galaxy adventure will start:
After completing the training task, students access the first league of Earth.
To join their first guild, students will have to take the Placement Test.
Once the Placement Test is completed, students choose one of three available characters from the first guild. When students complete a guild, 3 new characters will be unlocked. When students complete a level within a guild, new skins/clothing will be unlocked.
Afterwards, students will be directed to the main dashboard, where they can see a number of new indicators implemented within our reimagined incentive system.
The student dashboard consists of the following sections:
A picture of the character selected: students can always click on the Edit button to choose a different character or a different skin/clothing for the current one. When a student completes a guild, 3 new characters will be unlocked.
Star rewards: Students earn stars for completing math exercises. They can see both the number of stars earned and the number of stars left to access the next level within the guild.
Weekly quests, of which there are 3 types:
Solve a number of tasks
Practice for a certain period of time
Practice a certain number of days
Students receive 3 quests weekly. These are available for the whole week and renewed on Sunday. Each quest is a chance to earn more stars. Therefore if students complete quests on time, they advance to the next level more quickly by earning more stars.
Target section: Progress bars show task and time targets that students should achieve weekly. As soon as both targets are completed, students can access a game ( available Fall 2021). If a student fails to complete both tasks during the week, the game option will be blocked. Task and time bars reset to 0 every Monday. To read more about Weekly Targets, please see this short guide on how you can use them in your class.
Skills, in which students can earn 3 badges:
Mastery for the number of tasks completed
Persistence for the amount of time spent
Activity for the number of days spent
