I’m a SPED teacher: How can Happy Numbers help?
What We Offer Your Students
Happy Numbers can be a valuable tool for supporting students in special education.
The entire Pre-K–5 learning pathway includes friendly, human-recorded voiceovers in both English and Spanish. This allows nonreaders and early readers to focus on math rather than struggle with reading instructions.
Happy Numbers is also working toward WCAG 2.2 AA compliance. The platform already includes accessibility and inclusion features such as color-blind-friendly design and diverse, inclusive characters.
Different Levels, One Classroom
Students receiving special education services may sometimes feel isolated or different from their peers. In a general education classroom, they may notice that they are using a different program. In a special education classroom, they may see that every student is working at a different level.
With Happy Numbers, all students can work within the same platform while following individualized learning pathways. The activities look consistent across the classroom, even though the content and level assigned to each student may be completely different.
This helps students feel that they are participating in the same learning experience as their classmates while still receiving instruction that meets their individual needs.
Different Options for Setting Up Your Class
If your students’ current levels span no more than three grade levels, you can place them in one class. The Placement Assessment will automatically assign an appropriate learning pathway to each student, and you can adjust those pathways if needed.
If your students' levels span fewer than 3 grades, place them all in one class — Placement will automatically assign the right pathways, which you can adjust if needed. If the range is more than 3 grades, create multiple classes (for example, a Grade 4 class and a Grade 1 class) and sort students into them, so Placement can work more effectively. See setup options for SPED classes.
