Personal Computer (Desktop/Laptop) based on Windows

Win 7:

  1. Click Start, usually found in the lower left corner of the main desktop screen. Click the Run or Search field, type winver, and press Enter. An About Windows window opens and displays the version of Microsoft Windows, the build info, and service pack information, if any service pack is installed.
  2. Right-click on My Computer on the Windows desktop or in the Start menu. Select the Properties option. In the System Properties window the version of Windows and the service pack (if installed) is displayed.

Win 8.1:

  1. Go to the Windows Start screen. Type about your PC and select the About Your PC option.

Win 10:

  1. Open a File Explorer window by pressing Windows Key + E.On the left, right-click This PC. In the context menu, select Properties to open the System Properties window.
  2. Win 8.1, Win 10:
    Go to the Windows desktop screen. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard. Type winver in the text field and press Enter. An About Windows window opens and displays the version of Microsoft Windows, the build info, and service pack information, if any service pack is installed.

Macbook

From the Apple menu (apple icon) in the top left corner of your screen, select About This Mac.

You'll see the macOS name, such as macOS Mojave, followed by its version number. If some product or feature requires you to know the build number as well, click the version number to see it.

Ipad

Go to Settings > General, then tap About.
The version you need is shown under Software Version.

Iphone

Go to Settings > General, then tap About.
The version you need is shown under Software Version.

Chromebook

Click on the clock in the bottom right to open the system tray and notification panel.
Then click on the Settings cog.
Next, click the hamburger menu.
Select “About Chrome OS” at the bottom of the menu.

Android based tablets (Samsung, Amazon, Google, etc.)

Open your device's Settings.
Select About Device.
Select Android Version to display your version information

Android based phones (Samsung, Huawei, LG, etc.)

Open your phone's menu. Tap System Settings.
Scroll down towards the bottom.
Select About Phone from the menu.
Select Software Info from the menu.
The OS version of your device is shown under Android Version.

Internet Explorer

At the upper right, select the Tools  button, and then choose About Internet Explorer.

Edge

Select Settings and more  at the top of the window, and then select Settings .
Scroll down and select About Microsoft Edge.

Chrome

Click on the Menu icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Select Help, and then About Google Chrome.

Safari

Click on the Safari item on the top menu-bar (next to the Apple logo)
Select About Safari
A small window should now show your current version of Safari.

FireFox

On the menu bar, click the Firefox menu
Select About Firefox
The version number will be listed underneath the Firefox name.
