What is the Stuck Students Feature?
The "Stuck Students" block on the Weekly Dashboard displays, in real time, students who have spent significantly more time than expected on a current task and still haven't completed it. This feature allows teachers to quickly identify and assist students who might be struggling.
By hovering over the time spent by a student, you can see the average time it takes for students to complete that particular task.
Clicking on the name of the task will take you right into the task itself to see what the student is having trouble with.
We recommend providing support to these students. Working through an exercise together may help you determine what type of support is needed: a quick explanation or some extra practice. If you suspect that the struggle is caused by the program interface rather than by math gaps, please inform us via support@happynumbers.com. Together we can make Happy Numbers better!
Please note that if there are no students experiencing time issues with their current tasks, the "Stuck Students" block will not be displayed.
How do we identify stuck students?
We have created a special algorithm that calculates the maximum amount of time allowed for each task. This calculation is based on a large set of statistical data and estimates from our methodologists. If a student goes beyond this set time, they are considered stuck and in need of help. This feature is meant to assist teachers in offering timely support to students, ensuring they stay on track and can complete their tasks successfully.
We also provide an intervention alert to highlight students who have struggled with accuracy in one or more tasks this week. You can find more information in this article.
