Learning to read in Grade 1

The Grade 1 Happy Letters program expands upon the foundational skills introduced in our Kindergarten course, focusing on essential literacy skills. Our curriculum is designed to provide a structured, systematic approach covering key literacy topics, progressing in complexity as students build their skills. Each module in the program is carefully designed to build upon previously acquired skills, reinforcing key literacy concepts while introducing new ones. Students combine explicit instruction, guided practice, and independent work within each module. Lessons focus on phonics patterns, letter-sound correspondence, and decoding strategies, allowing students to master foundational skills before progressing to more complex reading tasks.
